Attending:


Devotional by – Percy Severn led in a moment of silence


Introductions – Teri introduced Percy to Joan


Review of Minutes – Approved as written


Review of Finances – No changes to financial status


Report on programs visited – Linda, Ros, Yahia, and Kellen attended Frieda’s memorial, which included a slideshow. Several people said that VCIC meant a lot to her.

Matters Arising to add to agenda:


Business:


  1. Feast of Faiths


    1. Tasks:

      1. Linda will update the VCIC brochures, making signs for the registration tables, and will get sharpies and nametags

      2. Bob will make direction signs

    2. Place – LDS Cultural facility

      1. Insurance rider –

        1. Catherine Shadduck has received an insurance rider via email

        2. No cost at this time

      2. Setup – we will begin at 4:45

    3. Caterers

      1. Teri spoke with the caterer but has misplaced the phone number

      2. Teri asked for vegetarian lasagna, eggplant pasta and tomato pasts

      3. Percy will be happy to work with Julie and Abundant Table, but Tim should send her Julie’s email address

      4. We will provide bottled water (Tim and Teri) and herbal tea if its cold (Percy).

      5. Teri will ask the caterer to provide heating units for the food. Percy has several if the caterer charges for it.

      6. We will comp the caterer and his wife for the food


    1. Place settings, etc.

      1. Percy will provide tablecloths, napkins, dinner and desert plates unless we have ice cream in which case, LDS has plenty of bowls

      2. Silverware – LDS has enough silverware

      3. Teri has heavy paper cups for the tea

      4. There are ten round tables that will seat 8 people each. There are also several 6’ (?) rectangular tables for food. We will use two.

      5. There will be two places for checking people in – one by the main entrance with two people checking people in and one in the hallway with two people checking people in

      6. We will put brochures on the tables at which people will eat

      7. We will seat people by creating place cards with names of faith traditions (based on pre-registration) to suggest to people where they should sit – i.e. a Buddhist would look for a Buddhist place card

      8. We will have two tables for pre-registered and two for pay at the door. We will need one person at each table. Joan is willing to work either table.

      9. Tim will ask for volunteers from Campus Interfaith

      10. Linda will make up cards with discussion questions


    1. Entertainment

      1. No children’s choir

      2. We will know about Taiko drummers tomorrow


    1. Publicity

      1. Tim asked the group to change the cutoff to the 28th and the group agreed. Teri will change the Powerpoint and Tim will get the revised flyer out to the various congregations tomorrow.
