VCIC Agenda

March 2, 2010

30 Minutes allotted for business:

Introductions:

Review of minutes: Tim was busy with his 3rd comp; so, there are no minutes.

  1. The Feast of Faiths

    1. Sunday, October 17 from 4 to 6.

    2. Place and format to still be decided.

    3. It would be good to send out save the date emails and cards soon.

  2. We agreed to have 30 minutes for business and the other hour for sharing about our faith or spiritual journey. Kellen will be sharing this time with a question and answer time. We are doing this to help us facilitate dialogue and learn more about each faith we come from.

  3. We would all like to do a service project together

    1. It was agreed that we would like to do a service project that would benefit one of our faith traditions or that one of our faith traditions is involved in.

    2. Teri sent out emails requesting ideas and these are some of the ideas to be prepared to discuss and decide upon.

      1. "Manna" and "Food Share" Love Percy

      2. Helping Hands a Community Service Day, May 8, 2010 Approximately 150-200 people in Camarillo and 200-250 people in Oxnard helping City/County Parks look better for the public. Sponsored by LDS

      3. Lose weight and feed the hungry suggested by Mark Waldman

      4. Many-Meals at Mary St. Magdalene as a potential project.

  4. Possible forum on science and religion – Tim sent out a report from Campus Interfaith saying they would be interested in co-sponsoring such a forum. Need to set date, speakers, etc.

ONE HOUR for dialogue. Kellen was willing to go first.

Time for analysis is this process holds promise.

Date of next meeting.
