Details

2006 to 2008, Drew University

·        I completed the course work for a Ph.D. in the Anthropology of religion

·        I successfully demonstrated an ability to translate academic literature from French into English

·        I am currently preparing for a Hindi examination, after which I will begin preparation for comprehensive exams.

2003 to 2006, At Claremont School of Theology

·        I completed a Master of Arts in Theological Studies with an emphasis in the philosophy of religion.

·        In addition to courses in the philosophy of religion, I completed classes in Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Mahayana Buddhism.

·        I also successfully completed doctoral level courses in Freud and Jung’s psychologies of religion and the philosophical thought of Kant, Schelling, Fichte, and Hegel.

1992 to 2001, At Amgen:

·        I conducted a search for a project management tool for Amgen’s Information Management organization.  I interviewed stakeholders, gathered requirements, evaluated ten products, and conducted a scenario-based comparison of two finalists.

·        I re-wrote an application to read XML input.  (The application prepares ~30,000 journal article abstracts a month for loading into literature databases.)

·        I led a project team to specify, locate, and implement a document delivery system for Amgen Libraries.  We gathered requirements, created a request for information, evaluated vendor responses, tested, purchased, configured, and installed a solution which allows the tracking of more than 6,000 requests for journal article copies per month.

·        I developed tools for automating the maintenance of literature databases.  I developed software, which automated a manual process.  During this time, I demonstrated the ability to rapidly develop and deploy useful components, which we later assembled into a web based, literature database administration system.

·        I led a project team in successfully diagnosing and remedying performance problems on one of the company’s primary database server.

·        As the U.S. project leader for the enhancement and implementation of a Standard Data Dictionary (SDD), I co-authored the project plan, requirements, and design and test documents and supervised a team of six developers.  The SDD was used in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Thousand Oaks to maintain schemas for clinical trial databases.

1990 to 1992, At Cellular Services:

·        I developed a sales tracking application in Informix.  I also maintained an inventory/invoicing application written in Informix.

1989 to 1990, At Briareus:

·        I maintained a Time Accounting and Workload Scheduling written in IRIS Basic and Bourne.

1985 to 1988, At Bloomington First Assembly:

·        I preached and taught at the church’s three weekly services.  I managed the church’s day care and kindergarten, its children and youth ministries, as well as directing its bookkeeping systems and coordinating its decision-making processes.
